Geoffrey Au is currently the Head of Risk, Asia Pacific, of Zurich Insurance Group, covering general and life insurance businesses across retail and corporate segments. He provides risk advisory services and oversight to support Zurich’s profitable and sustainable growth in the region.
Mr. Au joined in March 2014 as the Chief Risk Officer for Zurich’s Life businesses in Asia Pacific and Middle East from Sun Life Financial, where he covered 10+ life insurance, asset management, distribution, and administration companies across 7 markets in Asia in a regional risk capacity. Prior to Sun Life, Mr. Au was the Chief Risk Officer of a joint venture insurer in India, responsible for market consistent/economic reporting, modeling and Solvency II implementation in addition to enterprise risk management for the company. Before his role in India, Mr. Au had worked in Corporate and regional roles for AEGON, with various responsibilities such as financial reporting, capital management, pricing, valuation, risk management, and Solvency II.
Mr. Au graduated with the highest honor from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, double-majoring in Finance and Actuarial Science, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), and Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
